Good design requires more than good taste.

It requires judgment. Knowing what belongs, what will work and which decisions will shape everything that follows.

Some clients want that judgment applied throughout the entire project. Others need a complete design they can execute themselves. Some need an experienced perspective at a few important points.

There is more than one way to work together. What changes is how involved I remain as the project moves from ideas to reality.

01

Full-Service Interior Design

You want the home. You do not want another job.

You may be perfectly capable of managing a renovation or furnishing an entire home. You simply do not have the time. Or maybe you have no interest in spending your evenings researching products, comparing proposals, tracking decisions and answering questions from contractors.

Full Service is for clients who want the design and the responsibility of carrying it through to remain in experienced hands.

I am involved early and remain involved throughout the life of the project. I guide the design decisions, manage the details within my scope, communicate with the project team and respond when something does not go according to plan.

You remain part of the decisions that make the home personal without becoming responsible for managing every detail required to complete it.

Full Service may be the right fit for:

  • Kitchen and bathroom renovations
  • Larger renovations
  • New construction
  • Whole-home or multi-room furnishings
  • Projects combining construction and furnishings

The Design Plan

You want professional direction. You are comfortable managing what happens next.

The Design Plan is for clients who want the design fully considered before purchasing or construction begins but plan to manage the execution themselves.

I develop the direction, work through the functional and visual decisions and provide the drawings, selections and specifications included in the scope.

You receive a cohesive design that shows what belongs in the space, how it works together and what is needed to complete it.

The Design Plan may include space planning, floor plans, elevations, kitchen or bathroom design, finish selections, furnishings and written specifications.

Once the plan is delivered, you or your contractor take responsibility for ordering, scheduling, installation and execution.

Ongoing project management, procurement, contractor communication, job-site visits and Design Oversight are not included.

Focused Design Support

A few smart decisions can change the entire project.

You may be starting with a blank slate, reviewing plans already in progress or working through decisions that will shape everything that follows.

Focused Design Support brings professional judgment to the parts of your project where it can make the greatest difference.

Designer on Call

For projects that need ongoing design guidance without a full-service engagement.

Designer on Call gives you an experienced designer to turn to as questions arise and decisions need to be made. Rather than trying to anticipate every need at the beginning, we focus on the priorities in front of us and adjust as the project develops.

Support may include space planning, selections, sourcing, plan development, basic drawings, plan review, scheduled site visits and design-related communication.

Designer for a Day

For clients who want a dedicated day to work directly with me on a defined set of decisions.

Before we meet, we determine what needs attention first. Our time may be spent reviewing a plan, visiting a showroom, comparing selections or working through one specific area in depth.

How much we complete will depend on the complexity of the decisions, the information available and how quickly you are comfortable making choices. This works best for someone who is prepared to make decisions and wants direct professional guidance while making them.

Plan Review

For clients who already have plans from an architect, builder, contractor or cabinet company and want a professional design review before construction or ordering begins.

I review the plans for function, flow, clearances, storage, lighting, furniture placement and details that may create problems later.

Paint Consultation

For clients who need a cohesive paint direction rather than a broader redesign.

We consider existing materials, natural light, cabinetry, trim, ceilings and how color moves through the home. You receive a clear paint schedule that can be given directly to your painter.

The difference is responsibility.

With Full-Service Interior Design, I create the design and remain involved as it is priced, ordered, built and installed.

With The Design Plan, I create the direction and documentation. You take responsibility for carrying it through.

With Focused Design Support, we concentrate my involvement on the decisions or areas where you need professional judgment.

Each can result in a well-designed home. The difference is what you want to manage yourself and what you want me to manage for you.

READY TO TALK?

Let's talk about your project.

Some clients know they want the entire project handled. Others know exactly where they need help. If you are not sure which service fits, we can determine that together.

Tell me what you are planning, where you are in the process and how involved you want to be. I'll tell you honestly where I can help.
