This Milford kitchen was long overdue for a change. The existing space was heavily dated, and at the suggestion of his kids, the homeowner brought us in to help. He knew he wanted a black-and-white kitchen. From there, we took the time to understand who he was and created a design that felt distinctly his.

An avid hunter with a love of cars, his personality became the inspiration for the materials and details. The goal wasn't to create a themed kitchen, but to subtly translate those interests into a space that felt strong, grounded, and completely at home with him.

One of the most distinctive finds was the countertop. Its natural pattern looked almost as though a wild cat had walked across the stone, an unexpected detail that immediately felt right for this client.

A black backsplash brought depth and contrast to the kitchen, with a subtle automotive quality that connected to his love of cars. Together, the materials gave a classic black-and-white palette considerably more personality.

As a full-service renovation, our role went beyond selecting finishes. We managed the details and kept the project moving from design through completion.

Buckhorn is a great example of what happens when a home isn't designed around a particular look, but around the person who lives there: interesting, unique, and unmistakably his.
